That’s the central question that has driven Henk Janssen, CEO of Indes Healthcare, for years. In a recent interview with Health Valley, he explains how Indes Healthcare, through its brand esense, develops innovative solutions that reduce physical strain and increase job satisfaction.
From wheelchairs and patient lifts to hospital beds and trolleys: esense power assist drives make moving heavy healthcare products easy and intuitive. “Measuring is knowing,” says Janssen. “We don’t just want to offer smart solutions, but also prove how much physical strain we actually eliminate.”
Indes Healthcare originally started with the development of a pediatric wheelchair, aiming to keep children mobile and independent for as long as possible. That user-centered approach still forms the foundation of their innovations. Today, the same technology is applied to a wide range of healthcare products, where sensors convert push and pull forces into drive assistance – similar to an electric bicycle.
The result? Less physical strain, reduced risk of injuries and absenteeism, and more pleasure at work for healthcare professionals.
With FieldFit, Indes Healthcare enters a new domain: healthcare logistics. For example transporting meals, medications, or linens in hospitals – often a physically demanding task. Thanks to a smart retrofit kit, an existing trolley can be equipped with drive assistance in just two steps. This way, Indes Healthcare also makes a big difference in supporting processes.
